The Chairman Cllr Mags Murray and General Secretary Cllr Bobby O’Connell, welcome you to the website of The Local Authority Members Association – better known as LAMA.
This website is intended to be one of the means by which LAMA communicates with it’s members and with the general public and will be enhanced and updated as time goes on.
Two of the main aims of LAMA are firstly, to equip Councillors with the necessary education, training and information in order to help them carry out their duties as public representatives and serve their communities in the best possible way and secondly, to protect and enhance the conditions under which Councillors carry out their work.
LAMA runs two Seminars each year, one in the spring and one in the autumn and they deal with issues of the day which are relevant to the work of Councillors.
